Meet Amanda-Louise
Founder & Director, Executive Planner, Luxury Celebrant & Corporate Business Advisor
Well educated, graduated from Exeter University with an honours degree and won the Dean's award for outstanding performance during those 3 years graduating in 2011 (yes she was a 'mature' student"), plus qualified in her specialisms in Celebrancy, Creative Writing, Wedding Planning and Management, she has previous business in hospitality and events, catering and beverages and even a career in the police. Trained by the BBC in media & as a public speaker, she's been speaking professionally for over 30 years for small or large audiences over thousand, live streamed globally and interviewed on radio and tv.
With such a diverse expertise, she now enjoys supporting other business owners grow their own goals. And she also owns another business of female led funeral directors offering a fresh approach to funerals and advance planning.
Never fear, Amanda-Louise is at the helm of all our services, her brand means alot to her ensuring your day unfolds as it should do.
She loves life, is a real merrymaker, has an optimistic view and an artist at solving problems. She has great passion and flair, whilst is imaginative and creative does enjoy logistical planning too!
At home,a former ballroom and latin dancer, married to the love of her life, has 3 grown up girls, 3 grandchildren with another one on the way, and has St Bernard dogs. She starts her week with to do lists on a big white board, she loves to be up dancing when her favourite music track comes on, family & friends time is important where dogs are on the sofa, although a London born girl (well Hampton Court actually!!) then Surrey, Essex, Sussex now lives on Exmoor in Somerset enjoying the countryside (and the critters!) but her ultimate relax time is at the beach. She swapped the city life with killer heels for more comfortable ones, although she is trying to get used to the wellies! And after working hard at weddings, she'll be found on the sofa catching up with tv, or a book enjoying a glass of red wine!
Meet Alice
Wedding Planner
The unflappable Alice is a a major part of our wedding coordination days. Couples tell us she has a calm friendly manner, lots of energy, and nothing is too much trouble.
She's our part time wedding planner, who also works as a Manager for a well known optical company, so familiar with high level customer service experience, logistical planning, managing a team, an eye for details, and is definitely capable of'juggling balls'.
She's an ex-county rugby player for Dorset & Wilts, also played locally for Minehead under 18s, and spent 6 months playing for Canada. Her favourite position was flanker. Alice now plays for Taunton in their Ladies Rugby Team.
When she's not playing rugby, you will find her at the gym and exercise classes.
Alice tells us she can only cook 'pasta and cheese' so enjoys eating out, as long its not spicy! She enjoys socialising with her friends, and is that one pal that makes sure everyone gets home safely.
Alice leads her own weddings with assistants, or works alongside her mother Amanda-Louise. Yes "we are family"!
Meet Amber
Admin Assistant & Dog Chaperone
The super organised Amber is busy behind our scenes!
Graduated from Buxton University in International Catering & Hospitality, then working in the hotel industry, so knows alot about working under pressure, to deadlines and how important the journey of customer service is.
She's played rugby (also for Taunton Ladies), the drums and saxophone.
She has excellent admin skills, very detail orientated, and works alongside her mother Amanda-Louise with the admin, or within our dog chaperone team.

Having rescued saints from this charity ourselves, this has a special place in our hearts. Our Story
Our History
Amanda-Louise formed this business with vision and enterprise in the county she has come to love and call her home on Exmoor in Somerset, leaving London and Sussex behind. We've grown from a passion about moments in life that deserve quality celebrations, and its seen in the work we do. We are definitely merrymakers, working in this industry has its challenges, its certainly not for the faint hearted, and thankfully we have over 30 years event, hospitality and logistical planning experience giving us a reputation for getting things right when it matters the most.
Our journey began with Amanda-Louise as event planner, celebrant, public speaker and trainer organically grew and expanded with wedding and marriage proposal planning, on the day wedding coordination, private and corporate compere, wedding dog team, and staff hire. Then with all our experience, we branched out to support other businesses grow supporting land owners who want to set up as a venue or coaching other celebrants.
Very soon the business demand spread across the UK.
That was then, and we still love it as much today of all the excitement, responsibility and honour planning weddings and romantic occasions for our awesome clients, and each one is very important to us.
And we are super excited to share that at the end of 2023 our in-house catalogue of furniture and decor products are available to hire from us (south west only) providing that one stop shop for all your wedding day needs!

We have developed into a unique business privileged working with our awesome clients, and getting to know them very well. They are the first to tell us how uplifting we are, with our positive can-do attitudes, how we like to make things fun relying on us as professionals when it matters the most. We are definitely client centric - we love people and getting to know their stories.
We're lucky to work in some amazing venues; from home estate weddings, rustic countryside barns, cliff top location with the coast as backdrop to exquisite hotels, opulent manor houses and even on board The Royal Yacht Britannia with private use.
And we have individual backgrounds, tastes and styles and believe that occasions should not fit into neat moulds or stereotypes.
As we said, we are definitely people persons! Regardless of the buildings or the environments of those wonderful weddings and events, our values and beliefs are its the people within them that create the warmth and those happy ever memories.

Our Seamless Process To Book Us
1. You contact us and we discuss your needs. For our Wedding Dog Chaperone Services, we have an online form.
2. Amanda-Louise Knight Weddings Proposals & Events will raise a quotation/scope or, within body of an email, with services of what they can provide and the cost for the client(s) to consider,
3. the client(s) will inform Amanda-Louise Knight Weddings Proposals & Events they wish to go ahead and to book the services,
4. Amanda-Louise Knight Weddings Proposals & Events will then raise an invoice for the booking fee and send to the client(s) for payment, and also send a copy of the terms and conditions and a booking form.
5. The clients will read the terms and conditions and if they are happy, they will complete and sign the booking form, and return the booking form to the service provider. On signing the booking form, the terms and conditions now become “live” and forms a legal contract of agreement. The clients pay the booking fee.
6. Once payment and the signed booking form is received by the service provider, they will confirm to the client(s) that the services are booked in the diary providing the date is still available. (if not, the booking fee will be returned to the client(s). The service provider does not hold dates and is only confirmed during this stage of the process.
7. The service provider will confirm which member of the team will be the first point of contact during the planning stages, and who will be in attendance on the event itself; and will update this information should any changes occur.

As a business, we dont need to be sitting in the same office as a team. But that doesnt mean we are not "together" we prefer to work more flexible having virtual meetings, or even in a coffee shop, the beach or wherever it works for everyone.
We know having a good work life balance, makes good business sense. We have first hand experience of juggling busy diaries with children or stepping away to spend quality time with our other halves. So we all work different hours.
We are not into wearing uniforms, preferring to be smart casual and that we are comfortable.
And within our business our work ethos is a "no drama", love each other's authenticity and diversity, we're open to each other's ideas and will challenge if something isnt right.

Although many of us are seasoned in the wedding and events industry, each wedding is different and a learning experience. We always view feedback as a golden nugget to continuously improve what we do.
